Often people develop a negative self belief early in life which shows up in the present as "I am defective, inadequate or not worthy" as well as "I am powerless, helpless and don't see I have any choices". I know through EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), it is possible for those negative self beliefs to shift into "I am enough as I am" and "I always have choices and am the one to make them". EMDR is an effective therapy for trauma both single event and developmental trauma starting in childhood. Client's gain tools for coping through EMDR therapy a feeling of confidence in regulating emotion. I also see great benefit from Emotion Coding, a process of releasing trapped emotions which is energy healing work that I am working toward certification in this year. Emotion Coding, developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson, is a method to "rid yourself of emotional baggage that open your heart and body to the positive energies of the world".

EMDR Therapy is a powerful psychotherapy approach that has helped many people experience relief from psychological distress. The EMDR approach believes that past emotionally charged experiences influence your present emotions, sensations, and perceptions related to self and others. It helps you to break through the emotional blocks that are keeping you from living an emotionally healthy life. Our past experiences may also be related to trying to manage a current distress in an unhealthy way.
While we all have problems, not all of us approach the solution in the same way. It is important to find a treatment approach that fits your unique needs. I regularly integrate mindfulness based treatments into my practice. Meditation, body-awareness, focused breathing and guided imagery are just a few techniques incorporated into sessions. Concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFBT) are also interwoven throughout treatment.
